Registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME 2013, organized by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria for 2013/2014 academic year has commenced online. Early November, JAMB announced that candidates seating for UTME 2013 will have 3 testing options. The first is Computer Based Testing (CBT). The second is the computer-paper testing.
The final option is the good old pencil and paper. UTME candidates are expected to choose one of the options. According to JAMB, by 2015 only computer based testing will be available to UTME candidates.

Now JAMB UTME scratch card for accessing the e-registration portal for JAMB UTME 2013 is sold for N4,000, over 13% lower than the N4,600 paid last year, the first of its kind by JAMB. For now
VESTERconcept cannot confirm if the UTME 2013 scratch card can be be bought at designated banks, NIPOST offices and JAMB offices nationwide as is has been the normal tradition. However, since the card is branded GTBank, it is only safe to assume that the UTME 2013 registration scratch card will be available at all GTBank branches as well as Jamb offices. You will require the PIN and the serial number of the JAMB UTME registration scratch card to complete your registration, so keep it safe. For now, JAMB has not announced the the closing date for the sales of JAMB UTME 2013 Registration scratch cards nor the closing date for registration. We cannot also confirm the date of the exam for now. JAMB UTME e-registration portal is at www.jamb.org.ng/Unifiedtme/. As usual, you will need Java to access it. UTME 2013 registration can only be done at the so called JAMB accredited centres, However, while becoming an accredited registration centre attracted a N10,000 refundable fee last year, this year new applicants will pay a N10,000 refundable fee. JAMB UTME 2013 Registration will require biometric scanner. However, JAMB states that only the Digital Persona Scanner can be used for fingerprint capture in JAMB UTME 2013 Registration.
